Poetry from Catamaran read on KUSP 88.9 "Now's The Time."
Click here to listen. (Catamaran poetry begins at approximately the 90 minute mark.)
Starting a literary journal is hard enough, but after the Herculean task of getting the first issue has been achieved, there’s the little problem of producing Issue #2. The Central Coast’s admirable Catamaran Literary Reader has successfully risen to the challenge of the Sophomore Effort: Catamaran Number 2 has hit a newsstand near you. Art, fiction, commentary with a distinct California accent.
And poetry. Just like “Now’s the Time,” Catamaran reserves space for poets. Accordingly, all this month of April, we’ll be reading poetry from the new issue on every broadcast. Poets in the Reader include Gary Snyder, Killarney Clary, Aleida Rodríguez, Judith Serin, Cassandra López, Dane Cervine, Judith Barrington, Anya Groner, Beatriz Vignoli, Linda McCarriston, Cassie Premo Steele, and William J. Harris – and I’ll get to as many of them as I can. There’s some really great stuff here. Tune in and celebrate new poetry.
