Join us on the First Friday art walk at the Tannery Arts Center as we celebrate a new book published by local Santa Cruz author Jory Post. Reception at 6:00, discussion and reading at 6:30, and book signing at 7:00.

Jory Post’s first book of prose poetry, The Extra Year, focuses on the poet’s role of paying close attention to the world, writing about it, and sharing it. The 80 poems take a look at life through a lens modified by a diagnosis that shortens the productive timeframe.

Jory Post has been an educator and writer for 40 years as well as making handmade books and journals with his wife. His fiction and poetry have been published in Catamaran Literary Review, Chicago Quarterly Review, Porter Gulch Review, Red Wheelbarrow, 82 Review, and upcoming in The Sun. He is the cofounder and editor of phren-z online literary magazine in Santa Cruz.
